How do I remove makeup stains from my keyboard?

I have had my macbook for three years now, and overtime it has developed what appear to be stains from makeup on the keyboard. I have attempted to remove it by rubbing with a soft towel but it has been unsuccessful. Help?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Isopropyl Alcohol is the ONLY liquid you should ever consider when cleaning a keyboard. It evaporates much more thoroughly than water and faster too. It dissolves skin oil much better than household cleaners, and it is a great disinfectant. Use a damp (not wet) paper towel or tissue, or a piece of an old t-shirt. Power off the MacBook and don't press too hard on the keys. Afterward, "blow everything out" with canned air.
