can you use extra mouse buttons to switch desktop spaces?

I am using 10.8.4 on a Mac Mini. I have been trying to find uses for my 4th and 5th buttons on my mouse and I want to know if there are any other options than the ones in the picture below, preferably an option where I switch desktops using the extra buttons.

Mac mini, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4), Late 2009 2.26 GHz

The switching of Dekstops is a function of Gestures in the Trackpad, and (I imagine) the Magic Mouse.

So, if anywhere, I would imagine it would be in Magic Mouse prefpane, or if a third-party mouse, in its configuration software.
