any thoughts about how to change passwords on airport extreme with a different computer than the one usde to set it up?

AirPort Utility on the "new" computer will ask for the "device" or "base station password" if you want to make any changes to the configuration settings on the AirPort Extreme.
The device or base station password may or may not be the same password as that used for the wireless network....depending on on how things were originally set up on the AirPort Extreme.
Resetting an AirPort Base Station or AirPort Time Capsule FAQ has all the details if you have forgotten the base station password and need to start all over again.
