Resolution Problem- from imac to macbook air

I do my keynote on imac w/2560x1440 res and when I took it to the macbook air for mobile presentation some text gets shifted and I had to reformat certain slides. I see the air has 1440x900 resolution which is a different ratio than the imacs... I can't set the imac to the same ratio as the air. This seems too complicated to have to alter keynotes depending on if shown on imac or air... am I missing something here???? The problem is only for a few slides where there are tight text boxes or such...

when I go to slideshow mode does it keep the same relative ratio's?

Thanks much

iMac (27-inch Mid 2010), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), 8gig ram

match the presentation to the output display size:

Inspector > Document > Document > Slide Size;

from the dropdown menu select custom slide size and enter 1440 x 900
