Q: My IPad is not letting me receive or send messages. When I put in an address to send a text , it turns the name red and says it is not being accepted. Those are my contacts. It has always accepted them. My send and receive is on and I am signed into Apple

The iPad can only send messages to other iPads, iPhones, iPod Touches and Macs. The error message you're getting sounds like what I would expect to see if you're trying to message people who don't have those devices.

Not only do the people you are attempting to mesage have to have iPhones, they (not you) have to register their phones with iMessages.
