Q: iTunes Match (11.0.5.5) Deletion Issue
I've been using iTunes Match for since it was released in UK maybe 18months ago and had the normal upload teething issues due to it being busy, but since then its been trouble free. Over time I've become a pretty heavy user and have just over 10k tracks matched and thought I'd found and worked around most niggly features.
Until just last night, I downloaded the new iTunes 11.0.5.5 to a PC (Windows 7 64bit) and it works fine, except, I tried to upload an album but it got a bit messed up and ended up matching the same songs twice so I get duplicates. To note once matched I keep no local copies of files and keep iTunes Match copy only, if this has happened in the past I just delete the iTunes match record to retain only one per track.
Now though I try and delete in iTunes and it looks to removes fine, I then force an update to iTunes match by, "iTunes Store -> Update iTunes Match" let it complete, on iPhone \ iPad turn off iTunes Match, delete Music files "General -> Usage -> Music, then swipe and delete contents", turn on iTunes match on iPhone or iPad and I still see duplicates, also if I turn off iTunes Match in Windows iTunes and turn back on then the duplicates return.
While having two copies is better than it failing to have any, I hate untidyness and as yet have been able to housekeep and keep everything nice and neat, so its annoying whatever new feature enhancement has changed.
