Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iPod nano. I found a couple of resources that I think would help in a situation like this.


First, I recommend resetting your iPod nano:

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button until the screen goes dark. The Apple logo should appear after a few seconds, then the Home screen should appear.
