The Windows version that your MacBook supports depends on the MacBook Pro model you have. You can check in the link you included which Boot Camp version and which Windows versions your MacBook Pro supports.

The Boot Camp drivers are installed in Windows, so you can download Boot Camp 5 drivers in Lion

That says Boot Camp 5 can be manually downloaded. It can be downloaded while you are in Windows which is how I use it instead of using BCA.

I would not use 32-bit versions EVER unless maybe if you only use it in a VM.

Better to install natively with Boot Camp and 64-bit even then.

Downloading Boot Camp drivers

After learning which version of Boot Camp will run your version of Windows on your Mac, you can get the required version of Boot Camp these ways:

  • Use the Boot Camp Assistant to download Boot Camp 5 (only available on OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.3 and later). Boot Camp 4 is available via Boot Camp Assistant for earlier versions of OS X (OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.2 and earlier).

  • Manually download Boot Camp 4 or Boot Camp 5 support software from Apple Support Downloads.

Boot Camp 5 is compatible with your MacBook Air.

If you are referring to Boot Camp Assistant, OS X Lion includes the 4.0 version, but this doesn't mean you can't download the Boot Camp Support Software 5 and install it in Windows, as this has nothing to do with Boot Camp Assistant. Download the Boot Camp Support Software > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1638

Then, open Boot Camp Assistant and follow the steps. You shouldn't have any problem with the Windows 8 installation. Follow Apple's steps > http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/boot_camp_install-setup_10.8.pdf
