Thanks for the quick reply. But, I dont get the ear phones supported by Ipod shuffle 3rd generation in any apple store in my city. Can you suggest where can I get one? through online or some other source?
I'm not sure what you mean. There is only one version of the Apple Earpods. It is not FULLY compatible with the 3rd gen Shuffle, but the audio will work.
What I heard from the apple store was that, the standard earphones that come with apple ipod 3rd generation are no longer available and we have to use some third party earphones instead. So, I would like to know if I can get apple standard earphones for the 3G in online store?
This link is for earpods which are not supported by 3G. I need the supported standard earphones with remote & mic for 3G. Could you please provide me that as well? Sorry for the trouble
Have you been reading my posts? There is only one version. The audio works with the 3G. None of the other features will. That is your only option unless you want to buy from a third-party.
Thanks a lot Brandon2184... I guess, I have to go for a third-party. An earpod remote which doesnt control ipod 3G is of no use to me.

As an option, you can get an adapter that has the control buttons, such as this product

Then, you can use any headphones, including the EarPods.

Third party headphones, or adapter with the control buttons? For headphones with control buttons, depends on the specific product; you'll need to read the description and specs carefully. For the adapter, same thing, but most clearly state if it supports 3rd gen iPod shuffle. The one I linked to in 2013 does not seem to available anymore, but there are other similar products. I provided a "for example" link in reply to your other post.
