How much hard disk space on your main drive of a MacPro do you need to run system 10.6.8?
I also run Lightroom 4.4, and photoshop CS3

You need at least 5G free space to install snow Leopard.
You need more like 50% free on the system.
you need or want 24-48GB RAM for CS6
You want to insure you do not use the boot drive for scratch which CS6 will and will use a lot and hurt performance
Having a couple SSDs on PCIe Sonnet Tempo Pro SSD $300 is a great place for L4/5 catalogue/library, or separate set for CS6 scratch
And all your media of course is not on the boot drive as well.
An SSD boot drive of 120GB $89 or larger, Some large/r SSDs for scratch or/and L4 of 250-750GB or even 1TB.
