Can I overlay a 50% opacity clip over another clip
Can I overlay a 50% opacity clip over another clip in FCPX? I just purchased FCPX and I'm used to Premiere, etc. but I'm trying to make the switch over...

Yes. Put one clip on top of the other, and in the video inspector, near the bottom are the opacity controls.
Thank you, I'm just messing about with this, the product is very new to me :-)
I've been using Adobe products but with a recent upgrade to an HD camera I found that playback was slowing to a crawl... I have an 8 core Mac Pro, a reasonable amount of RAM, etc. but not a supported video card, no CL support. I'm trying FCPX on my laptop and I'm reasonably impressed.
What is the best current video card to buy for my Mac Pro so that I can install FCPX on that? The list on the tech specs page seems to be out of date?
Again, thank you for the help, I promise to read the manual tonight :-)
Thanks, I did read that but am I correct then that any modern "OpenCL-capable graphics card" will work?
Really just needs to be OpenCL, bigger and faster the better.
Thanks, I appreciate all your help - I'm really liking the program so far :-)
