If you take it to an Apple store they will replace the phone for $229 or equivalent.
No, he meant the equivilent of $229 in your country, if you are not in the US. iPhones and liquid do not work together well. Sticky soft drinks are even worse. There is no way to dry that out in the device. Apple does not repair devices, they replace them. The decision to have it replaced by Apple and have a short warranty versus you trying to repair it yourself is your decision to make.
By equivalent he is referring to the fact that people all over the world use this site and you didn't specify where you are located. It is $229 USD to do an out-of-warranty replacement of an iPhone 5. There are also internal moisture sensors but since the damage can be clearly seen on the screen they will be able to tell it is moisture damage. If you had the foresight to buy AppleCare + it will be $49.
You mean equivalent price of the iphone 5? So doesnt it also mean that it cannot be repaired? But the liquid indicator/sensor is still white.
