battery will not recharge

My Ipod Nano 7th gen is a few months old. Used to recharge without problem. Now, it won't recharge at all. Plugged it in all night using the adapter I purchased to convert my old Nano jack to the new jack. Turned it on while it was pluged into the wall outlet and it appeared that it had recharged completely (since the battery indicator showed full charge). Unplugged it from the adapter and the battery indicator showed that the battery was almost drained. Anyone having this same problem?
