I have an error with a disk; it is unmountable. I do not really care about the data, but whenever I try to mount it via Disk Utility it says I should go to first aid and Repair the disk. The button "Repair Disk" is grayed out, so I cannot press it. I have tried verifying it, but it says "Error: This disk needs to be repaired. Click Repair Disk." How can I repair/restore/reformat it so I can use it again?

You can't repair the disk you are booted from.
Reboot to recover (hold command-R) use Disk Utility from the Recovery menu to repair the disk.
It is not the disk I am booted from.
What are you booted from?
The default (Macintosh HD)
And which drive are you trying to repair?
I am trying to repair a separate disk
If the disk will not mount you can't.
Since you don't care about the drive's data, can you erase and reformat it?
Actually, no. It seems to also be grayed out. But I might try to reformat is via a Windows computer.
I was afraid of that. Your plan sounds good. MS-DOS(FAT) and ExFat are the most compatible with Mac OS.
I have successfully reformatted it via Windows XP (pretty sure other versions work to). Then I reformatted it into Mac OS Extended Journaled. That seemed to solve the problem.
