my phone has frozen, won't charge, won't reset what should I do?

Hi, my iphone was in working condition with full battery this morning. I'd just finished on the phone. Then I tried to access my facebook app when the phone froze and the screen went blank. From then on nothing happened. I read the manual, reset it, tried charging it. All of which haven't worked. Then all of a sudden the battery symbol came on for a split second. It included the battery icon, with a bit of red and the icon of the charger. It's not charging though and I've checked with two different chargers which I know work. Can anyone advise?

Hello,

I would love to help you solve this issue.

It sounds like the battery is dead based on the picture that came up when it charged.

This could be one of two things: your charger or the port. If it is your charger I would try to buy a new one. Otherwise, you would need to talk to Apple about getting the port fixed.

I expect this issue to be solved by my response but if not please reply and I will assist you as soon as possible.

If the battery was discharged and that caused the phone to turn off, it may take up to 30 minutes or more for the phone to respond once it is plugged into the charger.

I suggest using the charger that came with the phone and plug that into a known good wall outlet. Then wait 30 minutes. After thirty minutes, and with the phone still plugged into the charger reset your phone. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the phone restart.

If the phone restarts, leave it on the charger until it is fully charged.

If the phone does not restart then check to make sure the lightning or dock connector port is free of any lint or other debris. You might also try a different cable and different charger. If none of these work its time to have you phone checked out by an Apple technician. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

Connect to the wall charger for 15 minutes (at least). Then hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons until something happens. Ideally the phone will display an Apple logo and restart. It might also display a red battery, in which case you should charge it longer. If it displays an icon showing a cable and iTunes you need to connect it to your computer and Restore it using iTunes.

If none of these help please provide a little additional information, such as the model, iOS version and age of the phone, and the type of computer and operating system you have.
