My external blu ray drive won't detect any disc anymore. I've had the drive for a year and it would normally read dvd or blu ray but now the activity light would just blink a couple of times and power down.

My external blu ray drive won't detect any disc anymore. I've had the drive for a year and it would normally read dvd or blu ray but now the activity light would just blink a couple of times and power down. I've opened disk utility and the drive is showing as hp DVDWBD TS-LB23L and there is also some more information when I clicked on the link to Open System Information.

Any idea as what's causing this problem? I am running a 15" Early 2011 Macbook Pro with OSX 10.7.5. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you
