Trying to update to iOS 6 some apps require this . But when I check for updates....there r none.

No. iOS 5.1.1 is the latest.

The first generation iPad can not be upgraded beyond 5.1.1.
So for a business situation apple would not be the best product to go with since .....they leave their most profitable product behind? Interesting and thanks for your help.
