Reconnecting External Hard Drive
After ejecting an external hard drive ( to use the smart previews in PS Lightroom 5), how is the external drive then reconnected because it doesn't show in the finder?

Are you ejecting it by dragging the icon to the trash?
As far as I know, you need to unplug the external hard drive and then plug it back in to the Mac with whatever cable you're using.
One way is to open Disk Utility (in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder), select the name of the volume of the drive from the list on the left & click the "Mount" button on the toolbar or the mount option from the file menu.
The path for removing the drive was: finder/drive name/click on the icon next to the drive (eject?). At this point the drive disappears both in finder and on-screen. I don't want to unplug it because it will be too frequent an operation.
