Q: Why have British System 7.01 and 7.53 software been deleted from Apple's software archive?
It appears that that British Support Area software archive which includes System 7.01 and 7.53 is no longer available.
The links were still live when I last checked on 27th June 2013.
It seems it was the only place to download System 7.0.1 as it is not available on apple's older software list page, although 7.53 is.

The low end macs are very popular on eBay so it's a real shame that System 7.01 is no longer available as it will run on Macs with only 2MB of RAM.
I understand that System 7.1 and System 7.6 are unavailable due to machine based licencing but that this wasn't the case with System 7.01.
Please Apple, make system 7.01 available again!
Thank you,
Phil

Hello
The following links seem to work as of 2013-09-09 00:06:32+0900.
You might start from the following link in case Apple_Software_Updates_sr16310449 is something temporal.
http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/
* I noticed these links are often redirected to "not found" page, but if I retry several times, they eventually load.
Hope this may help,
H
