Downloading an audio file on iPhone 5

Is there any way to download an audio file (such as a lecture) through Safari on my iPhone 5? If I am on my computer I can use the Control key to download it, but since that is impossible on the iPhone keyboard I can never find a way to do it. I'd love to just shove it right into iTunes so I can play it later.

Sadly, Apple refuses to provide this basic much needed functionality. My wife flies often and likes to listen to sermons. The iPhone doesn't provide any means of downloading an mp3 and saving it locally. You can stream it, but not save it for later off-line listening.

The cludgy workaround that I use requres a computer and DropBox on both the computer and the iPhone:

1) download the desired mp3's on my computer.

2) copy them from the computer to DropBox

3) access the files via DropBox on the iPhone

4) mark them as "favorites", which stores them locally for offline viewing.

Cludgy, but until Apple provides a decent OS, it is not possible using the iPhone alone.
