If you purchased iPhoto from the App Store, you can re download for free using the same Apple ID it was purchased from > Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Note. iPhoto 11 requires v10.7.5 or later.

Instead of trying to reinstall the app, try rebuilding > iPhoto 6 and later: Rebuilding the iPhoto library

Make sure to backup your iPhoto Library before doing so.

Just reinstalling iPhoto rarely fixes a corrupted library issue.

Hi there,

I was re-installing all my apps to a new Mac I just purchased from a time machine backup, it looks like something was missing within the OS for a couple apps such as mail, iPhoto, Calendar, and iMessages. I upgraded to OS X 10.8.4 from OS X 10.7 and this took care of all my problems. Thanks for the quick response. I really appreciate it.

Best Regards,

~Guillermo
