iOS: How to transfer or sync content to your computer

To transfer contacts you need to have your iCloud set up on both devices. Once you are signed in on both devices, do the following:

Home>Settings>iCloud>

Then, you make sure that the contacts slider is switched to on.

To do this on the Macbook, do this:

Go to the search icon and type in "icloud"

Click that icon and switch the contacts to ON

Then what? Both are on and my iPhone is connected to my macbook. Nothing is working at all. It said my iCloud was full so i deleted it. It says it empty so why isn't this working.
