Message on screen is: Use WiFi to Restore. It is dead! What do I do?

Ipad needs to sync with my airport but, it is frozen The message I get on the screen is: Use WiFi to restore. A Wi-Fi connection is required to download your apps and media I have two options -- later & Use WiFi trying to choose WiFi and nothing happens!! It's Dead!!

Try this now.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
