I am having problems connecting to Wi-Fi

My iPod Touch 4th Generation is having trouble connecting to wi-fi sometimes. Everytime try to connect to my home network it tells me that I can't connect to my home network but the weird thing is that I connect to Optimum wi-fi and other networks just fine. When I do connect to my home network it works for a curtain amount of hours then I lose connection. It is very frustrating, I tried everything I reset network settings on my iPod and I even forget my network and it doesn't let me on for about two hours or more. I am on 6.1.3 firmware and I am wondering if other people are having this problem as well if so it could be a possible bug in the firmware. Please help.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks?

Does the iOS device see the network?

Any error messages?

Do other devices now connect?

Did the iOS device connect before?

Try the following to rule out a software problem:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Power off and then back on the router

- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network

- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. However, it appears you have a problem with your network
