6 month old Mac Pro suddenly no seeing any USB device connected

I am a long-time Mac user, but have never come across this problem before: My 6 month old Mac Pro has suddenly decided not to recognise any USB device I am conneting it to... Including two external herd drives and a Wacom tablet.... Any help much appreciated

One thing I would try if I were experiencing this, is to create a small partition on one of your internal hard drives and place a fresh, vanilla installation of OS X on to it.

Boot into that new install, and test your USB devices there. If they are recognized, then that narrows things down to your present OS X installation.

You could also try resetting your NVRAM: Press and hold the Cntl-option-P-R buttons at boot sound. May not help at all, but you never know. It seems to mysteriously cure a lot of ills.

If nothing helps...............there is always Apple Care.
