So far, nothing suggested has worked. Since I've upgraded to the latest iTunes version, which failed and needed to be uninstall and reinstall, new music will not sync to my iPhone 5. The only thing that has worked, but I can't do this every time, was to remove all music and then re-sync. I don't want to sync over 3,000 songs every time I want to add more music.

So far I've done the following:

1. Did a repair on the Apple Mobile Device Support

2. Uninstalled every piece of Apple software, rebooted, reinstalled iTunes.

3. Turned off Home Sharing and turned back on.

I have not restored the phone yet as I'm holding that as the last resort. Obviously this is a more wide spread issue than a few people.

Thanks.

I had this same issue of songs not syncing properly and tried for hours to solve the problems with all the solutions offerer by users on this board. It wasn't until I finally deleted all the music files from my iPhone that I was finally able to re-sync everything. And, that even took three attempts until it finally worked! Thanks for your help.

Before I try this I have one important question: Did you have songs on your iphone that have not (will not) sync to your computer??? I have a few songs that I purchased on my iphone that will not sync and appear on my itunes. I have been dealing with this problem for months. It is SO frustrating. Why haven't they fixed it yet???? Please help!

For months now I have had the same issue, I literally tried everything suggested and nothing worked, SO FRUSTRATING. I finally figured out, literally minutes ago, and everything is uploading to the phone now.

I had to get a new computer several months ago and couldn't even get iTunes to download and it just went downhill from there, I am blaming Windows 8 – I HATE IT, but then when I upgraded to the 5S it just got worse, I was at my wits end, but it was such an easy fix once I realized it.

Go to Edit, Preferences, Advanced and check the iTunes Media folder location. For me, the file location listed was not correct. iTunes was using the folder from old computer, not this one (because the idiots that did the data transfer just threw everything in some random bizarre obscure folder) and when they loaded iTunes they didn't change it and they didn't tell me to either. Once I FOUND the folder where the music was all I had to do was change the location so it was correct and now it works perfectly and all my music is back on my phone. WOO HOO

I hope this helps!

Guys, same problem different result. I tried lots of things so who knows what combination of keys / things really worked. But I

  • deleted my music off the phone.
  • tried resynching it didn't work
  • then I found a key on the itunes summary page "reset warnings"
  • I clicked that
  • then clicked manually manage music / videos etc...
  • then selected the music I wanted sync
  • then it worked!
  • 1333 songs syncing away...

I was having trouble getting about 10 songs I copied into iTunes from a CD, that I had been happily listening to on my iPhone 5 for a few years. Somehow, all of a sudden they were gone off my iPhone. So, I ended-up backing-up my Music library to my external hard drive, un-install/re-install iTunes, "Add Folder to Library" pointing to my backed-up Music folder, and tried several sync combinations. Nothing worked; all music on my iPhone 5 was wiped.

Finally what worked for me was: plug-in iPhone so it comes up in iTunes, click on the iPhone in Devices on lef-hand pane, and then click Music on top of right-hand pane (where it has Summary Info Apps Tones Music ..etc....). From there, I found "Sync Music" was unchecked!!! This must be the default after installing iTunes??? So after clicking on that box, I was able to "Add Folder to Library", point to my backed-up Music folder, and Sync again. Finally worked.

I found all the suggestions here helpful but useless (restore from backup, set up as new iPhone, checking and unchecking the options under Summary) until I turned OFF Home Sharing and kept it OFF while I was syncing my iPhone 5S.

When I want to use Home Sharing with my Apple TV, I will turn it back on; otherwise, it stays in the OFF position.

iTunes 11 with iOS 7 is a disaster. Apple should be ashamed. What was once a simple "it just works" program (it syncs!) has become a mess. There shouldn't be 5 pages of people trying voodoo magic to get their music and videos onto their iDevice.

For anyone encountering this problem, I was having the same issue importing my iTunes to my replacement iPhone 5, what solved my problem was opening iTunes, going to the top tool bar and selecting "Store." From there, I chose "Authorize This Computer." Immediately after doing that, I entered in my Apple ID password and my music began importing. Hopefully this bit can help someone else in the future!

This has been an ongoing issue with my phone for the past year. I've taken it into apple thrice, and on each occasion, as much as some of them tried, no one was able to help. The steps that seemed to have worked for me from RELIGIOUSLY reading this thread, are:

1. Turning off pass code lock AND auto-lock (completely)

2. Deleting ALL my music, apps, videos (I did this manually through my phone and also the mac) - I wanted to avoid restoring my phone to it's factory settings

3. Turning off home sharing on itunes

4. Under Options on the itunes device page - uncheck all other settings but make sure that the "manage music and videos manually" bar is ALWAYS ticked (has a tendency to revert back when making other changes)

5. Make sure all other sync settings are turned off in their respective bars (apps, music, movies, books, photos, etc)

6. Grab every bit of your patience- attempt syncing- and pray you've grabbed enough...

because honestly, I must have tried a hundred combinations offered on this thread before arriving at what appears to be my resolve. And I stress "what appears to be my resolve". Left with a very bad taste for apple. I hope someone finds a clearcut solution to this.
