Extend MacBook Air running Windows to iMac

The company I work for has provided me with a MacBook Air which only runs Windows XP. I also have an iMac at home running Mountain Lion. Does anyone know whether you can extend the MacBook Air desktop to the iMac? I have tried Air Display, but that won't work because when I VPN into the company LAN, my iMac does not see the MacBook Air, because technically, it is on another network. Any ideas?

Yes it does support Target Display mode. I tried connecting both machines with a thunderbolt cable, but nothing happens. I think it because the MacBook Air is running Windows XP.

Yes. Windows has no support for TDM.
