Q: Can I renew my itunes match subscription without iTunes?

Hi, last October I moved out of my house and left the main PC behind with all my music on it.  I subscribed to itunes match to be able to access all my music with my iOS devices.  I am very happy with the service. Since I am coming up on one year, I would like to renew the membership without going back to that computer.  Is there a way to do this without getting in front of iTunes on my home PC?

I have an iPad, iPhone and Apple TV.

Thanks,

Joe

iTunes Match will automatically renew unless you turned off the Auto-Renew option in your iTunes Store account. If you did turn that off, you can turn it back on from an computer with iTunes and an Internet connection.

Note, however, that if you did not de-associate that computer from your iTunes Store account, it will still be tied to the iTunes Store and iTunes Match and so will be taking up one of the ten devices you're allowed.

    Regards.

Thank you.  I am still trying to figure out what to do with regard to the "main" itunes PC.  The machine is getting old, I don't live there anymore (divorce) and all my music is on the hard drives.  Ultimately, I would like to just keep my library in icloud without having it on a hard drive.  The PC will bite the dust soon or the hard drive(s) my 10,000 songs are on will.  I am thinking about buying an iMac and would love it to be the central itunes machine, I just need to find a way to get the 10,000 songs on it so it can be the itunes match machine.

    Making any sense?

I'd suggest that if at all possible you get hold of that old PC at least long enough to copy your iTunes library to an external hard drive, then de-associate the system from your iTunes Store account and delete the tracks from the PC. You can then copy the library to whatever new computer you end up with. iTunes Match is a nice service, but I don't recommend it being your only copy of your music. It's best to have copies of the tracks on some sort of backup medium, even if you don't want to keep them on your computer for daily use.

    Regards.
