Internet problems on iMac [internet on macbook is fine though]

My internet on my iMac stops working like 20 minutes after i connected to internet,
it still says it has full connection to my router, when i stop my wifi, and put it back on, it works again but after 20 minutes orsomething it stops again.. no problems at all on my macbook, iphone and other computers.

i know the problem is somewhere on my iMac because my other macbook iphone etc still got super internet connection. My iMac is closer than all of them to my router.
so distance isn't the problem - signal strength is always max, even if the wifi stops working. It is really annoying; it kicks me out of games and stops my spotify music etc. 😟

i searched all over the internet, but couldn't find the answer.

i hope you guys can help me.

Kind regards,

Cedric

Try the basics first:

Change your router channel number. Most times this works & is all you have to do.

Disconnect & reconnect your modem. unplug it for about 10 seconds. Plug it back in. Do the same for Apple’s routers. Wait for everything to reboot.

System Preferences>Network

Click the Assist Me button.

In the next window that pops up, click the Diagnostic button & do the necessary.

Also, run the Airport Utility app which is located inside the Utilities folder.
