I have the option to backup the data in an application by emailing it to myself. The file attachment is called mcbackup.json
What program can I read the information from the file in?
I have downloaded the program File Viewer but still the data is displayed in code.

This wouldn't happen to be the Menstrual Calendar app by chance? If so, I don't believe that's a file you can read elsewhere, as it's just a backup of the data in the app and not meant to be used in other applications.

I already have contacted the developer but they never replied to me. I am hoping someone with some knowledge of .json files will respond with some helpful advice for me.

Upload the file to http://json-csv.com and you will be able to read it.
