Itunes content missing

I bought a new macbook Pro and my itunes library was all there from my previous computer, but the next time I opened itunes all of my content was gone. I authorized this computer so that shouldn't be the issue. Any ideas?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

If you have your iTunes folder backed up on an external hard drive and only this method, you can go to your external hard drive and click on the iTunes music folder and then in iTunes at the upper top click (add folder to library) and your library should start filling up but only if you have it backed up first. This is the method I used when I switched from Windows to Mac and had to transfer my music over to Mac.
