iWork free for old iPhones
Apple announced today that iWork will be free for "all new" iPhones and iPads. What about for old ones? Anybody know?
MacBook Pro (17-inch Late 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.5), 2.4 GHz Core i7, 16GB RAM, 1TB HD

Only free with the purchase of a new phone. That's it. The offer is not available to those who already have a phone.

Any idea what the "after September 1, 2013" really means? Could mean any existing iOS device that will run iOS 7.0. Interesting.
It says, "qualifying iOS 7 compatible devices activated after September 1, 2013." I would take that to mean only for newly purchased iPhones, as they would be the "qualifying" devices.
Yep. There are several ways it could be interpreted.
iPhoto, iMovie, Keynote, Pages, and Numbers are free on the App Store for qualifying iOS 7 compatible devices activated after September 1, 2013.
"Qualifying" is the key word... Since updating to iOS 7 will require re-activating the device, I suppose any compatible iOS device that gets updating to iOS 7 could qualify.
I think the general understanding, and the intended meaning is iOS devices purchased and activated after 9/1... I wouldn't complain if it turned out otherwise, though... although the only one I didn't already buy is iMovie.

That's my thinking as well...any iOS device that will run iOS 7.0, purchased after 9/1. Guess we will find out soon enough.
