Differences between iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s

Think of the 5c as being the same as the iPhone 5 (which it is, except for the color backing) and compare.

Well there are differences. Otherwise why call it the 5S. Look at the keynote; it explains it in detail.

Sorry to ask, but the ONLY diff between the 5 and 5c are the color backs? If so I missed that important point and I think any 5 owners "upgrading" to a 5c might be a tad upset.

If I missed it my apologies, but if not, then Apple has not stated clearly a 5c is identical to a 5 except for the color backs. Seems strange to take a SKU and make a completely superficial change, rename and remarket it as something "new."

We'll have to see the final sales counts, but wouldn't it seems it would have been far easier to not create a new 5c and just release the 5s and drop the price of the 5?

If the 5 and 5c are identical feature wise, it seems like an odd production/marketing move and confusing to the public and especially 5 owners.

I checked and doped a cursory comparison of the 5 and 5c and they seem mostly the same other than talk time and case dimensions. There may be more, so here the links. But you don't really need to differentiate between the 5 and 5c. You can compare the 5 to the 5s directly also in Apple's Tech Specs

PS - the case dims are the same between the 5 and 5s so if you use a hard cover case like the battery Mophie case ($99) on a 5, it fits perfectly with the 5s. I tried my Mophie 5 case on a 5s at an Apple Store yesterday. Perfect fit.

Didn't try it on a 5c, but seeing the specs, unless there's a little wiggle room in a 5 hard case, I don't think the 5c will fit.

But then, I can't imagine switching from a 5 to a 5c since they are so similar in specs.

I actually played around with a 5C over the weekend. Not bad.The plastic does not feel or look cheap. But then again the metal finish of 5 and especially the 5s is very nice.

IMO for the price the 5c cannot be beat.
