Q: Safari doesn't load pages; on and off problem.

Hi all,

I'm new to owning a mac and have been having trouble with Sarafi.

Most times when using Safari I have no problems, but it seems that Safari goes through stages of loading pages and then not loading pages.

Pages will randomly load only around 1/4 of the way and after reloading a few times or waiting a minute or two it finally works.

It gets quite annoying especially when trying to watch videos ext.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

    Hi ...

Try emptying the Safari cache. Press Command + Option + E then quit and relaunch Safari to test.

If that doesn't help, try this DNS.

Open System Preferences > Network > Advanced > DNS

    Click + and type:

    208.67.222.222

Click + again and do the same.

    208.67.220.220

    Click OK.

Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them.

    1. Have you restarted your router and broadband modem since you first noticed the problem? If the answer is no, do that now and see whether there's any change.

    2. Are any other web browsers installed, and are they the same?

    3. What about other Internet applications, such as iTunes and the App Store?

    4. Are there any other devices on the same network that can browse the Web, and are they affected?

    5. If you can test Safari on another network, is it the same there?

    6. If you connect to your router with Wi-Fi and you can also connect with Ethernet, do that and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?

    Hi,

I would like to 'reopen' this issue since it doesn't seem to be solved and I have the same problem.

To answer the questions of Linc:

    1. Yes

    2. Yes, google chrome, but only recently to try if the problem would persist in another browser (yes).

    3. Yes, iTunes, dropbox, app store.

    4. Yes, windows devices, cellphones (both apple and android). They are all unaffected.

    5. The only place I don't experience the problem (so far) is at university where I use and eduroam network.

    6. No Ethernet port on my computer.
