iBook publishing size limitations

The iBook I am producing is significantly over the publishing limit of 2GB... It's a little under 6GB and is heavy on videos, photos and graphics. Is there anything anyone can suggest about cutting down the size? Perhaps converting the videos included from HD to MP4 format is a possibility? But I do not know if this will yearn a significant size decrease.

See Optimizing performance in your iBooks Author books.

But if you simply need all those resoures, consider making more than one book - publish a series of editions, instead.
