iCal and work email from a gmail server

I have a work email which is purchased via gmail, i.e. myname@xxxxxxx.com. Previously, all my calendars were set up and all ran smoothly. Then, I went to setup my store's email which is on the same gmail server, but i kept getting errors saying that it couldn't connect to a secure server. I looked at the settings for my other accounts and they showed as CalDAV and believe I set everything up identically, but to no avail. Is there a way to get my work email/calendar to show in iCal or is there something going on with gmail/ical that is causing this to error out?
