Email Problem On iPad3

I have my pop email account set up on my iPad with the exact same settings that I have on my iMac, but if I try to send a message from my ipad I get a message saying that the email address was rejected by the server. Any ideas?

pop3 and imap are for recieving mails

they both rely on smtp to send mails

if your ipad try to send mails using smtp across the 3g network you

need to make sure that the smtp ports are not blocked by your carrier

Sometimes, you get that message if your username and password are not entered in the outgoing mail server settings so check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.

Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.
