Taking MBPr off of Cinema Display charge when not in use
I have a 24" Cinema Display (MB382LL/A) that I keep connected to my 15" Early 2013 MBPr while it's in clamshell mode. I will regularly disconnect the Cinema Display charge cable from the MBPr while I'm not using the computer (keeping just the USB & Mini DisplayPort cables connected to the MBPr while it's not in use). I'm having two problems with this process (to note, all of this is in clamshell mode)
1. When I connect the Cinema Display charge cable to the MBPr to begin to use the computer it wakes up and immediately goes back to sleep and then takes what seems to be quite a long time, especially for the MBPr, to wake back up. How do I stop this automatic wake up to sleep to manuel wake up process from happening?
2. When I'm done using the MBPr with the Cinema Display and I remove the Cinema Display charge cable it causes my external drive to wake up which will then wake up the MBPr (though the MBPr is closed I can tell because the Apple logo lights up). Even if I put the computer to sleep and then remove the Cinema Display charge cable it will do the same thing, my external drive wakes up which causes the Apple logo to light up.
Is there anything else I can do in this process to solve either one of these problems I'm having? I prefer to take the computer off of charge when it's not in use, it sometimes goes days without me using it.
