Using Keynote remote

I found that I could not get the keynote remote to work just using Bluetooth. I followed all the instructions multiple times but it would only work with the wifi connection. I then shut down the iPad completely and do booted it and it now works on Bluetooth perfectly! Hope this helps someone else
