Safari Error Cache Access Denied

Hi, We have a latop whom when opening Safari we get the following error:

ERROR

Cache Access Denied

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.google.com.au/ig

The following error was encountered:

* Cache Access Denied.

Sorry, you are not currently allowed to request: http://www.google.com.au/ighttp://www.google.com.au/ig from this cache until you have authenticated yourself.

You need to use Netscape version 2.0 or greater, or Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0, or an HTTP/1.1 compliant browser for this to work. Please contact the cache administrator if you have difficulties authenticating yourself or change your default password.

I have removed the cache files, Safari preference files. Installed Safari 6.0.5 update again and no luck. However this does not happen in Google Chrome and Firefox. I initially thought it maybe a proxy problem, so I disbled proxies and still no luck. I read on Apple Discussions that someone got the same problem but on a Windows machine and selected auto detect. I tried that in System Preferences and still no go.

This is quite frustrating. Any help please?

Thanks😎

From the Safari menu bar, select

Safari â–¹ Preferences â–¹ Extensions

Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.

If you wish, you may be able to salvage the errant extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. Its settings will revert to their defaults. If the extension still causes a problem, remove it permanently or refer to its developer for support.

I have the same problem as the top post. However safari gives the same message for every website. I have tried all the above - no solution yet! Chrome and firefox work but always ask for my proxy password. Have tried to solve this for 2 years now!!! Am on macbook pro OS 10.7.5. I really wish SOMEONE could give a solution that works - for instance, are there some preferences that I need to ditch? This is too ridiculous and I am on the point of doing a clean reinstall after zeroing out the hard drive.

I have attempted a few methods in order to get my proxy working,

1. "Finder" >> "Go to" >> type in ~/Library/ >> search for "Keychains" folder and access it >> inside the "keychains" there is a file named "login.keychain" which you can ignore >> next to it there is a folder, drag this folder (which is the only folder available) to your desktop. >> now inside the "keychains" folder, there should only be one file remaining (login.keychain - file). >> Now restart your MAC!

*Bare in mind that the restart may take a little longer, as the device has to create a new folder with its configuration files.*

Now do the following go to your "Systemsettings" >> "Network" >> Now delete/remove the network which you have configured (In my case it was "WLAN") >> Create a new network using the "assist me" >> during this procedure you will be asked to restart the device again, don't ask questions just do as told by MAC ^.^

After creating your new network, re-enter all necessary settings and configuration and attempt to run Safari, Firefox or your preferred browser.

If this worked, you may ignore step 2.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------

Step 2: if all the above did not help, it has to do something with your User Profile!

1. Create a new Administrator account (no icloud password) new account name, new password.

2. Logout from old Admin account and login into new account

3. Enter Proxy Settings and you are good to go!

After 2 hours trial and error it has worked for me.

Good luck 😀
