if i uploaded my music on iCloud, do I need to keep on my MAC?

I am running short on memory on my desktop.

can i eliminate the music in the itunes Music folder if i have uploaded to icloud?

iMac, Intel Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X (10.6.4)
