Ok, mine is iOS 8.2, does it work too?
Yes, but only for content purchased from the iTunes store. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. for a comprehensive approach.

Jul 24, 2015 9:20 AM in response to Baywatchboyby Baywatchboy,Thanks for all the responses. We all missed the simplest solution. I used a thumb drive to transfer the new music I had put on my old MBP (I had to put it on my old MBP because it was from a CD and my MB Air has no drive) to my MB Air and dropped them right into iTunes. I feel kind of stupid for not thinking of this/
I apologize if my original post was not clear enough for what I was trying to do.

Aug 8, 2015 12:04 PM in response to roaminggnomeby Bumbles the cat,What if the person no longer has access to the original computer and they want to salvage what they can, or maybe songs they've added since the last backup? You don't know why the person is asking, so judgmental non-answers aren't helpful.

Oct 18, 2015 4:04 AM in response to Strike of Turinby Ville_J,I dont have any "small" button "transfer"... When i plug my iphone to the PC (Win10) i get two options on the right menu (itunes 12.3) under Iphone:
Settings
On My Device
And the music is under this "On My Device" -> "Music".
How on earth do i transfer them back to my pc? The problem here is that when i moved files from the computer to iphone (music files) with itunes it apparently deleted the files from my PC!? I do not have those same files anymore on my computer (Music directory). So every song i put on my iphone using iTunes is now gone from my pc.
I havent bought them from Itunes/Google, i have had them on CDs and ripped them to my computer already on 90's. So obviously they are not in iTunes Music library or what so ever.
Listen to me Apple - I have better things to do on my holidays than trying to figure it out how to get things work. Thanks again Apple for your crappy software! #%&#%!

But ****! That looks horrible - the filing system in ios, like a big mess. No wonder why they dont want users to access their filing system...
