How to sync my iPhone 5 iMessage to my mac's iChat

I have wanted to know how to sync my MacBook to my iPhone 5, so that when I recieve a text message on iMessage it comes up on my MacBook. I have tried going into send and recieve, and checking that my phone number and email I use for my AppleID account are selected, and I have also made sure my AppleID account email is selected when signing onto iChat. So I have no idea what to do next to have this up and running! Please help!
