Hi I am using an old (2010) mac and need to update to use icloud etc. It currently runs mobileme! How can i find out what os Im using and i go to the apple log and then about and it opens a text page I cannot understand!

From your menu bar top of your screen click the Apple menu icon
From the drop down menu click About This Mac.
The OS X version is noted there.
Click on the Apple icon.. Top left in Finder...
> About this Mac > Version...what does it say?

The first step in Upgrading... is to Snow Leopard = OS X 10.6.x
It is Not available as a download... It is a Paid Upgrade.

After the Successful Install, run Software Update to get the latest updates for Snow Leopard.

With Regard to ML... Check here for compatibility of 3rd party Software you may be using... Also note that Rosetta is no longer supported in Lion and Mountain Lion...
