Unwanted sync - battery drain

Hi all,

I checked the forum but couldn't find a similar topic in this respect.

For a couple of months already i'm having a problem that a window pops up on my iPhone saying "automatic sync - do you want to accept or decline". The problem is that it pops up for no particular reason. Can be during the day, can be during the night. Another problem is that as long as the message is shown it will use a huge amount of my battery, so it frequently happens that my battery completely drains because of this and that's quite annoying. Especially during the night as my iPhone is also used as alarm clock :-).

Anyone knows what it relates to and how it can be resolved? (iphone 3GS with 6.1.3).

ok, i've finally found what causes the problem. It's not related to Apple, but related to my provider in Belgium: Mobistar. They automatically activate the unnecessary "m contactsafe" sim function which tries to sync(0.75€ per sync) your contact to their server as "back up". As if you don't back up your numbers to your computer and/or icloud...
