FaceTime from one mac to another?

Is it possible to FaceTime from one mac to another? And if so, what is the set up? ( I have made the connection for a mac to an iphone)

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4), 27-inch, Mid 2010

Hi, dgmjr.

You can FaceTime from one Mac to another. As FaceTime requires an Apple ID which is an email address, you will need to place the call to that Apple ID in your contact list. Here are some resources that explain this process.
