My Mac keyboard seems to be getting "heavier/stickier"! I want LIGHT keys.

My G4 iMac flat screen 17" is ok, but it seems that my keyboard keys are getting "heavier/stickier." I like very "light" keyboards that type without much pressure. Now it seems that I have to POUND on the keys to make some of them type.

Do I have to go out and buy a new keyboard? If so, any recommendations? (Like those ergonomic keyboards).

Or is there a way that I can CLEAN MY KEYBOARD?

I need some advice!

I know my Apple keyboard does take a little more pressure to operate it's keys. I think they just get a little tougher as they get older.

If you want a light-touch keyboard, you'll probably need to find a keyboard from someone else.

I've used keyboards over the years from:

Keytronix, IBM, Logitech, Microsoft, Apple, and, many, many others.

The keyboards I remember liking the most were The very old IBM keyboards, and Keytronix, and the very first Microsoft Natural Keyboard.

The Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro has a very firm keyboard. But, I did also like the Natural Keyboard "Elite".

You should be able to find Keytronix, Logitech, and Microsoft keyboards with a USB adapter. Even the very old Microsoft keyboards were available with USB adapters (they came about after USB was introduced).

My best suggestion, would be to visit your local Best Buy and CompUSA and play with several of the display model keyboards. See which one feel the best to you.

You can turn it over (upside down), and blow on it with compressed air to work all the built-up dirt out. That might help.

I've also dismantled many, many keyboards and cleaned them by hand (and even run their parts through dishwashers). That's a bit much if you don't have the patience for lots and lots of little pieces.

Hope this helps.
