bash script
I have a nicely working bash script, and want to change the default setting so that it will run on a double-click, but don't know the proper "open by" name. Please?

Save it as a ".command" file.
Save it as a ".command" file.
Hi,
Saving as ".command" definitely made a change, but now I need more info.
When I double-clicked on the .command, the message stated that I didn't have the correct permissions. I checked in finder, had read-write. If there is an "execute" option, it wasn't visible.
Please?
chmod u+x /path/to/file
etresoft, THANK You.
It is working nicely.
Please, what should I read / study so that I can solve more of these myself?
Again, a large Thank You.
It is standard UNIX command line stuff. You mentioned you had a bash script working nicely so I figured you just weren't familiar with .command files. "UNIX command line stuff" is a rather large topic. I'm really not sure where one would go to get started. Most people just pick it up in bits and pieces over the years.
You're quite correct, I'm very new to OSX (UNIX-like), but I can follow through on "UNIX Command Line stuff".
Yet again, thanks.
