Q: My iMacs Wifi connection times out randomly and im not sure what else to do
Ive searched Youtube and the support section of the apple site and have tried various solutions that they have offered but have had no luck.
So heres the issue, my wifi connection connects, works fine for a few minutes or a few seconds then stops, but stays connected with no internet flowing. I tried the solutions suggested, turning wifi on and off, removing wifi from my network preferences, deleting the files from my key chain, removing the networks from my list, restarting a bunch of times, and ive gotten no where.
for what i could find out, the wifi card itself in my imac has a huge bug when it comes to certain routers. oddly, it had not given me any problem for the first year i had my imac since my router was an apple router. but since i moved, and my router is now a belkin router, it doesn't seem to stay connected consitantly.
there are 2 solutions i didn't try, downgrading my wifi driver, which im not sure exactly how to do and for what i read wasn't reversable with out installing lion again. and the other is buying a USB wifi antena, which I ordered of amazon out of sheer frustration in hopes that that fixes my problem.
I have a mid 2011 imac 21.5 with OSX 10.7.5
Thanks for the help in advance and if i forgot any detail that would help better solve this problem, please let me know.
I appreciate the help.
