Sep 15, 2013 11:04 AM in response to broosooby a brody,★HelpfulWiFi hotspotting can be done, but only if another networking standard is used to receive the internet. Thus you can do Internet sharing over WiFi, if you use ethernet to receive the internet, or vice versa. But you can't both receive the internet and distribute over the same standard at the same time. Firewire can also distribute IP as well.

Sep 17, 2013 3:25 AM in response to broosooby Jan Hedlund,★HelpfulAlternatively, you could look for a mobile broadband (3G/4G) hotspot with built-in Wi-Fi (there are such devices from companies like Huawei and ZTE). Typically, the hotspot holds a SIM card.
It is also possible to connect an existing USB mobile broadband stick (with its contained SIM card) to a dedicated 3G/4G mobile broadband router (for example, from Dovado).
